Am I defined by my gender; by soft, round, and delicate, a stereotype, which is described at feminine? Society contends that the female is linked to femininity. These terms are often loosely defined and ignorantly described. As a result of this perspective, females are experiencing a process of healing from the belief that the morality of females is less developed and of less importance than that of males. Therefore, my current work explores the definitions of female, feminine, and femininity while also investigating cultural stereotypes dealing with the differences in morality between males and females. By combining images with fabric and various methods of stitching, I portray a feminine healing from a cultural wound.
